Michael Bates Homes is owned by husband and wife, Michael and Mary Bates. With a loyal following of sub-contractors and suppliers,
this dynamic duo with a devoted office staff and field personnel have been building homes for over 25 years, predominately
in the Farragut/West Knoxville area.
Michael and Mary have two children, daughter Amber and son Aaron. Aaron is currently attending the University of Tennessee. Amber has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and a Master of Science degree in Operations Research and Management Science, both from UT. Amber has recently joined the company as the Director of Sales and Marketing.
Michael's prior experience includes many years with the U.S. Antarctic Research program. Michael has served as National Association of Home Builders President in 1986. He has been selected by the prestigious Southern Living Custom Builder Program as a member since 1997. Michael has served as a board member for this group for several years.
Melanie Sharpe, Warranty Manager, has been with the company since 1994.
Stewart Chafin, Superintendent, has been with the company since 1988.
